Privacy policy
Kipzy is built to keep your browsing on your iPhone. This page explains the little data that does leave it, and why.
The short version
- You don't need an account, and we don't know who you are.
- Your history, bookmarks, favorites, tabs and saved videos stay on your device.
- Private tabs use a separate store that is deleted when you close them.
- Anonymous usage stats and crash reports help us fix bugs. You can turn them off in Settings.
- We don't sell your data.
Data that stays on your device
Browsing history, bookmarks, favorites, open tabs, website data, saved videos, library folders, playback positions and your settings are stored only on your iPhone. We have no way to read them. Your daily download count is kept in the iOS Keychain on your device so the free limit works after reinstalling.
Face ID and Touch ID are handled by iOS. Kipzy only learns whether you were recognized, never your biometric data.
Anonymous usage stats and crash reports
Kipzy uses PostHog (servers in the United States) to count how features are used, for example when a download starts, finishes or fails, and to collect crash reports. These events:
- use a random identifier and no person profile, so they aren't linked to you;
- may include a site's domain (such as example.com), but never a full web address or page content;
- never include anything from private tabs, not even the domain.
Turn this off anytime in Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous analytics.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have Pro. It receives an anonymous app user ID and your App Store purchase records, not your name, email or payment details.
Rewarded ads
Free users can choose to watch an ad to unlock an extra download. Ads come from Google AdMob and load only when you ask for one. Before the first ad, iOS asks whether Kipzy may use your device's advertising identifier. If you say no, Google shows ads that aren't personalized. Google's use of data is described in Google's partner sites policy. Pro users never see ads.
Ad blocking lists
About once a day, Kipzy checks kipzy.app for updated blocking lists. Like any website, our host (Cloudflare) briefly processes your IP address to deliver the files. We don't use it to identify you.
This website
This website uses PostHog to count visits without cookies. Nothing is stored in your browser, and no session recordings are made.
Children
Kipzy isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Your choices
You can turn off analytics in Settings, refuse ad tracking when iOS asks, and delete your browsing data from Settings at any time. Deleting the app removes everything stored by Kipzy except the Keychain download count. Because analytics are anonymous, we can't look up or delete events for a specific person.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Questions? Email support@kipzy.app.
